Rural

From August 24 to September 25, 2009, I spent 5 weeks in a village in hard core rural India, in the Vidharba region of Maharashtra. I taught English to class 6 kids. Instead of me teaching them English, they taught me Marathi. And a little about survival. And about keeping a smile. And about love.

There is a good description of the purpose of the whole thing on the day7 post. I submitted a report on what I think should be done for systemic improvements in the primary education system at this village. Please send me an e-mail if you want a copy of this report.
